Out-of-network insurance benefits
Working within the insurance system can be confusing, and many folks are not aware of the different benefits they can access. To assist you with understanding the cost of therapy with me, I've included some resources that can help you to estimate cost and coverage.
Check out this guide for how to speak with your insurance company about out-of-network benefits. Click to enlarge it.

You can also try plugging your insurance information into this out-of-network cost estimator below. It is not a guarantee of coverage, but it can offer a helpful estimate before you reach out to your insurance for confirmation.
Good Faith Estimate
In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect on January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their Federal rights and protections against "surprise billing." As such, you have a right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your out-of-pocket medical care may cost without insurance.
-
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including related costs such as diagnostic tests, medications, medical equipment, and hospital fees.
-
Your health care provider is required to give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your appointment. You can also ask your provider for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling any services.
-
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate indicates, you have the right to dispute the bill.
-
Be sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about this act, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
